Best Agers Lighthouses
Strategic age management in small & medium-sized enterprises and public organisations
Due to the consequences of demographic change it is necessary to change the mind-set with which we see older people – especially in working life. The Baltic Sea Region Programme project "Best Agers" has indicated that keeping older workers can be economically beneficial for employers. The extension stage project "Best Agers Lighthouses" now creates practical examples to demonstrate consequences of implementing age management in Human Resources policy at the organisational level and promote them as "Lighthouses".
In the "Best Agers Lighthouses" project, Local Age Management Partnerships (LAMPs) are formed in eight partner regions. Within each of these LAMPs an intervention is carried out that helps to reform HR management in order to make better use of the knowledge and experiences of older workers in key positions. The interventions are evaluated by scientific partners and the project partners will demonstrate measurable benefits and success factors of applying age management.
Our Final Conference took place on 16-17 September 2014 in Riga. The conference documentation is available in the download section.
